MusicNSW / regional venue discovery

The full case study continues below

Musicians planning a regional tour often need to piece together information about venues, locations and possible routes from multiple sources.

MusicNSW wanted to make that process easier through the Regional Touring Network: a public product that would help artists discover venues across New South Wales and plan how those locations could form part of a tour.

Cartisan designed and developed an interactive directory combining venue information, mapping and route planning. Artists could explore and filter locations, build potential routes and share relevant venue information.

Built with Mapbox and Kirby CMS, the product was delivered as a coherent spatial experience, with our team supporting the work from initial scoping and product definition through to design, development, testing and launch.

The Plan tour view of the Regional Touring Network. Your route lists three stops — Agrestic Grocer in Orange, BMEC Showroom in Bathurst and Bootlegger Bar in Katoomba — with drive times of 52 minutes and 1 hour 38 minutes between them and a total of 2 hours 31 minutes, 167 km. The map traces the route between the three venues, with Download and Save / share buttons below the list.
The Bootlegger Bar venue page on a phone: a photo of the bar's entrance, the address 92 Bathurst Rd, Katoomba NSW 2780, venue type pub/hotel/bar, 60 pax capacity, accessibility for artist and audience, and website, booking email and phone details.
